The mission of the Grace M. Pickens Public Library is to provide service of excellent quality to all residents and taxpayers of the library county in order to meet the cultural, educational, informational, recreational, and life-long learning needs of the community. Service shall be given by providing convenient and equal access to information, facilities, programs, and materials, in various formats. The library will continue to evaluate and update these services to meet changing needs.

Resident Library Card (Free)
Available to:
Residents of Hughes County
Property owners in Hughes County
Students attending a Hughes County K–12 school
Individuals employed in Hughes County
Library cards are issued to individuals and are not transferable.
Non-Resident Courtesy Card
Available to eligible individuals living outside Hughes County.

Guest cards are available for computer use only.
Applicants age 18 and older must provide:
Children under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to sign the application.
Books: 2 weeks
Movies & Audiobooks: 2 weeks
Most items may be renewed up to 3 times if no one else is waiting.
New library cards are limited to 5 items on the first checkout.
The Grace M. Pickens Public Library is fine-free, which means we do not charge daily overdue fines.
Overdue items still appear as overdue on your library account until they are returned.
If an item is not returned within 30 days of its due date, it is automatically marked lost and a $25 replacement charge per item is added to your account.
Accounts with $5.00 or more in outstanding charges or fees may have borrowing, computer, and other library privileges suspended until the balance is resolved.
1. Residents of Hughes County (“customers”) with a valid Grace M. Pickens Public Library card may reserve most library materials.
2. Customers with an account balance of $5 or more may not reserve materials.
3. Holds may be placed in person, by telephone or online.
4. Customers will be notified by the preferred method selected in their account.
5. The library will only notify customers of available holds once. Relay of the message to the appropriate person in the household is the responsibility of the customer.
6. Holds placed through the library automation system will be held for a minimum of 7 days after notification.
7. If not claimed in 7 days, the item will be held for the next person on the waiting list or will become part of the circulating collection.
8. Customers listed as authorized users, parents or legal guardians may pick up or cancel held material for another customer.
9. In compliance with state law1 only authorized users, parents or legal guardians will be provided detailed information on any library account.

Through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL) Interlibrary Loan service, eligible library cardholders can request books, audiobooks, DVDs, and other materials from participating libraries across Oklahoma and beyond.
