GRACE MOLONSON PICKENS

Grace Molonson Pickens, was born on July 8, 1900 in Dewitt, Arkansas, to William and Nellie D. Molonson. Her Family was one of the pioneer families of Holdenville, Oklahoma. Mr. Molonson built several of Holdenville’s finest buildings.

Grace Married Thomas B. Pickens, a lawyer, on October 25, 1923, and during World War II she ran the Office of Price Administration in Holdenville.

She was a quiet, unassuming woman of great strength and high ethical values, which she passed along to her only child, T. Boone Pickens.

Grace died on November 5, 1977 in Amarillo, Texas and she is buried in the Holdenville Cemetery.

The Holdenville Library was renamed in her honor in recognition of a generous gift to the library by her son, legendary energy entrepreneur T. Boone Pickens.
